WILD (Wall-sized Interaction with Large Datasets) is a ultra-high-resolution wall-sized display with a 3D real-time motion capture system, interactive whiteboard and other devices (mobile multitouch devices, gyroscopic mice, wiimotes, etc).

Technical description

  • Display: 32 (8x4) screens, 30" Apple Cinema Display, 2560x1980 pixels each
  • Size: 5m50 x 1m80 (9.9 square meters)
  • Resolution: 20480 x 6400 = 131,072,000 pixels
  • Cluster: 16 computers, 3.2 GHz quad core Apple Mac Pro with 2 Nvidia 8800GT graphics cards each
  • Motion tracking: 10 camera VICON real-time motion tracking (.5mm accuracy)
  • Audio: 7 speaker spatialize sound, ambient microphones, Lavallier microphones, headphones for 3D sound
  • Whiteboard: one 55" Microsoft Surface Hub, two 65" 4K Iiyama touch displays with adjustable pedestal (height + tilt)
